The Idea of Love // Books + reading post
I started The Idea of Love on the first of May, and finished it this past weekend while on a road trip coming back from West Virginia. It was a sweet, short book that wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but still good! I loved the idea of the book and the plot - a movie writer with writer's block is visiting southern towns to find a story to share on the big screen. When he meets Ella and falls in love with her story, he isn't completely honest about who he is with her. And surprisingly, she isn't all that honest about her story either. With so many lies that it's nearly impossible to turn back around, they somehow keep going forward and end up falling in love despite the guilt from the lies they've told.
The character development and the pace of the story could have been a bit different, but overall the book is a great beach read that I'd recommend for someone who is looking for a light, sweet read.
